Falcon 7B Instruct

Falcon 7B Instruct is an instruction-tuned variant of the Falcon 7B model from the Technology Innovation Institute (TII) in Abu Dhabi. Fine-tuned for chat and instruction following, it delivers capable conversational performance in a compact, efficient package.

The base Falcon 7B was trained on the RefinedWeb dataset, a high-quality web corpus with extensive filtering and deduplication. The instruct variant adds instruction-tuning on curated conversational data, enabling it to follow directions, answer questions, and engage in helpful dialogue.

Falcon 7B Instruct was one of the first open models to challenge the dominance of LLaMA in the 7B class, demonstrating that data quality can compensate for smaller model size.
